ARMY'S BLACK LION
AWARD |
|
The Black Lion Award plaque, presented to the United States Military Academy in 2004 by the Army Football Club, occupies a position of prominence in the Army football locker room, with the names of Army's Black Lion Award recipients engraved on it for all West Point football players, present and future, to see - before and after every practice and game. Army's Black Lion is typically announced to the team and the national media during the week prior to the Army-Navy game, and he wears the Black Lion patch on his jersey during the game. The first West Point football player to be honored as the Black Lion Award winner was defensive end Will Sullivan, from Atlanta, Georgia, in 2004. |
