IN RESPONSE TO NUMEROUS
REQUESTS - I will be selling tapes at clinics and if they are
purchased at the clinic they will sell for $4.95 off regular price.
However, since I am limited in the number of tapes I can carry, I may
run out. In that case, I will still sell "rain checks" at the clinic
price and ship the tapes as soon as I return home. (The clinic prices
apply only at the clinic to people who are
registered.)
Q. Do you have an agenda of topics to be covered?
A. I like to be able to respond to the needs and wishes of each particular group of coaches. Audiences, I have found, can vary greatly.
So I don't work with a formal agenda. To me, that would be a promise to cover the things I put on there, and I don't want to fail to keep a promise. I work off a long list of things that I am prepared to cover, but I can't cover them all - there simply isn't time in a one-day clinic to cover them all.
If I were to try to work off a rigid agenda, I might disappoint some coaches by leavng a topic too soon, or by staying on one topic so long I failed to get to the last couple of items on the agenda.
Q. Is a clinic the best way to learn the Double-Wing?
No. My clinics are for a wide spectrum of coaches - youth coaches as well as high school coaches - but they are not intended to supplant my teaching materials - to teach the Double-Wing to people who don't have any experience with it at all.
Q. Is there an overall theme?
Yes. The overall theme is the two major characteristics of my system - simplicity and breadth. I believe that's what makes it unique.
Thanks to its simplicity, we are able to teach it relatively quickly, and concentrate on doing a certain core of things very well.
But thanks to its breadth - its versatility and flexibility - we are able to take that core of things and employ them in a wide variety of ways, becoming truly multiple.
My aim has always been to send people away with a better understanding of how to be a more effective Double Wing coach, and with a whole lot of things to think about. I think that most people who have attended one or more of my clinics will tell you that I have managed to do that.

Q. I have coached for 6 years in the 10-13 year age range and tinkered with the double wing in the past. I was hoping to really use it this year and wanted to know if your clinic is focused on coaches new to this offense. Also, which tapes would you recommend. Thanks for your help.
A. Good question. It is fair to say that the clinics, although mainly aimed at people who already run the offense, are very useful to people who might not have run it yet but do have a basic understanding of it - terminology, etc. You can't get to that point without 'Dynamics of the Double Wing" - video and playbook.
"Installing the System" would also be invaluable.
If you come in with that knowledge, you will not be alone. You will then be able to understand and profit from what you see and hear, and to talk with other coaches at the clinic. Hope you can make it!
Q. What if I'd like to attend more than one clinic?
A. Our policy is - IF YOU PAY FOR ONE CLINIC, YOU CAN ATTEND A SECOND ONE (OR EVEN A THIRD ONE) FREE. In the past I have had a few very interested coaches attend more than one clinic and as a result, I now offer - space permitting - free admission to a second clinic to any coach who has paid to attend an earlier clinic this year.
Q. What is your policy on refunds?
We cannot make refunds less than ONE WEEK before a clinic. The pre-registration discount is offered in return for a firm commitment from you so that we can make our plans accordingly. If, however, you find yourself unable to attend a clinic you've pre-registered for, you may apply the registration fee to another clinic.
Q. Do you offer a large-staff discount?
A. Yes. Provided that payment is made in advance - with the same purchase order or check - the eighth coach on staff will be admitted free with payment for seven coaches.
Q. What if we pay for a certain number of coaches and one of them can't make it?
A. We don't offer refunds, but if possible we will attempt to work out a credit good for purchase of tapes.
