DALEVILLE, AL - DALEVILLE 42, Opp 0 - The Daleville Warhawks are 2 and 0 under new Head Coach John Moton (formerly at Wilcox Central) and have won 14-0 over Goshen and 42-0 this past Friday over Opp. DW is alive and well in D'ville and the kids are believers after 400+ yards rushing vs. Opp. I am having the time of my life as well working for Coach Moton, running the DW and coach the OL. Coach Emory Latta
GERALDINE, AL - GERALDINE 56, Ider 6
APPLE VALLEY, CA - APPLE VALLEY JR. PEEWEE RATTLERS 27, Snowline Diamondbacks 27 to 7. We run your Double Wing and it is awesome. Charlie Martin
LATHROP, CA - LATHROP TITANS 48, Modesto Rams 27 - The Lathrop Titans Junior Varsity Team opened up their season Saturday by defeating the Modesto Rams. The Titans ran for 402 yards on offense with Gerome Surrell gaining 146 yds and three touchdowns. A total of NINE Titan running backs gained yards in this game. The Lathorp Titan Novice Team, which also runs the Double Wing, also won, defeating the Rams novice team 26-0. John Torres
LAS ANIMAS, CO - LAS ANIMAS 57, Hoehne 6 - After a difficult opening game loss last week, the Las Animas Trojans rebounded in style with a dominating performance in all aspects of the game. The Trojans beat the Hoehne Farmers 57-6 to even their record at 1-1.After starting sluggishly and leading just 6-0 in the first quarter, the Trojans erupted for 35 points in the second quarter and never looked back. FB Andrew Abdulla (6'3" and 220lbs) led the way with 17 carries for 171 yards. 14 of his 17 carries were G-plays. C-back Charles Alvidrez carried 10 times for 105 yards and a TD (He also scored on a pass reception and an interception return.). The Trojans pounded out 487 yards on the ground in 49 carries and completed 2 of 8 passes for 26 yards and a TD. Next up is highly regarded Ellicott. Although it is early in the season, this game could determine the league champ and the #1 seed for the playoffs. Coach Wyatt, the Twin Tilt defense is working very efficiently, and our players are growing more comfortable with the schemes each day. Thanks for all your help. Greg Koenig, La Aminas HS
GUILFORD, CT - GUILFORD JUNIOR WHITE (11-12 yrs) 24, Branford 7 - Guilford improved to 3-0 with a victory over Branford, CT, 24-7. A balanced attack mixing 88 super power, 6g, 2 wedge, 47c, and 38 go reach had Branford scrambling to adjust. Ball control was the key as we held the ball for almost the entire 4th quarter to finish the job and bring home the win. We feel we have just scraped the surface of what this offense is capable of. When they truly break out it will be awesome. Thanks Coach. Roy Lamberton
UMATILLA, FL - UMATILLA 49, Lake Weir 6 - We had 304 rushing and 39 passing and one TD. Our defense only gave up 28 yards total offense and no pass completions. We had a short field most of the night with our worst starting field position our own 34 yard line. Our B-back had 118 yards, 3 TDs and 2pat runs. A-Back had 65 yards and 2TD. I had no backup fullback this week due to injuries and other things so took one of the two QB's I had been using and had him relieve my FB. He ended up with 54 yards rushing, 1 TD, and threw and 17 yard TD pass while at QB. He is just a great athlete with a great attitude that always has the team first. I told him on Wed that he might have to be backup FB and it was just fine with him. This week he will probably be my starting QB as the other one is my safety and we are playing a team that throws the ball about 30-35 times a game. My kids have great attitudes and will always do what is best for the team. Really refreshing. Ron Timson, Umatilla HS
DECATUR, GA - MILLER GROVE MIDDLE SCHOOL 33, McNair 6 - With a new job - and a new lease on life (see NEWS) - Coach Kevin Latham's first game at his new school is a successful one.

Coach Scott Lovell, Alta HS
FREDERICKSBURG, IA - FREDERICKSBURG 58 Dunkerton 8: A-Back 4 carries 121 yds 3 TDs, 2 rushing and 1 KO return for 82 yds. C Back 6 carries 130 yds 2TDs. B back 10 carries 37 yds and 2 TDs. QB 3 att 2 comp 65 yds and 2 TDs. A very efficient night for the Falcons. 26 att. for 310 yds, and 9 TDs. Steve Staker, Fredericksburg HS
HOLSTEIN, IA - GALVA-HOLSTEN 33, Battle Creek-Ida Grove 6 - Starting A Back 14 carries 84 yards 1 TD... Starting B Back 8 Carries 60 yards 2 TD's... Starting C Back 9 carries 60 yards 1 TD... 2nd A/C Back 6 carries 35 yards... 2nd B Back 6 carries 23 yards 1 TD... 3rd B Back 3 carries 24 yards ... 3rd A/C back 1 carry 3 yards... QB 6 carries 47 yards --- Total Offense 53 rushes for 336 yards - 0-4 passing - 6.3 yards per carry average - They had some BIG kids. We have some things to work on, but overall with a 6.3 ypc average and the complete domination of the clock we are pleased with our season opening result. Brad Knight
ALTON, IL - ALTON 55, Centralia 0 - Coach Wyatt, The Redbirds won 55-0 and amassed another 300 yards. We also threw 6g pass for a touchdown. We open the conference this week against East St. Louis, they are ranked 6th in the state. We have our work cut out for us. Coach Brad Hasquin, Alton HS Redbirds
BLOOMINGDALE, IL - BLOOMINGDALE BEARS 14 Buffalo Grove 0 (90 LB Gold Division) Bloomingdale continued their unbeaten streak with a big road win. This was a big win for me and my two sons because we were coming back to a program were we played for 3 years and there was a lot of hype going into this game. Both teams were undefeated and were playing real good football. Erick King scored our 1st td on a QB sneak off tight 2 wedge and B back Clay Cooper scored on a 3 trap at 2 for our 2nd score. Special teams were huge for us all day. After just missing 2 big runs off of 47C we went in at the half scoreless. After receiving the kickoff Erick King broke loose for a 50 yard return to the 5 yd line where we punched it in. Brandon Leston broke loose on a 50 yd punt return that set up our second score of the day. I guess all the special teams practices that we do really paid off when we needed it the most. Never underestimate special teams play! Talk to you next week Coach Stacey King
COLFAX, IL - RIDGEVIEW 40, Tri-Point 20 - Score was 40-0 at halftime. Sophomores played the second half and didn't have alot of success against their varsity but got some valuable experience. MIke Benton, Ridgeview HS
EAST MOLINE, IL - UNITED TOWNSHIP 42, Rockford Auburn 14 - UTHS' 2nd win - Mark Kaczmarek
HANOVER PARK, IL- 80 LB GOLD HURRICANES 33, HInsdale 0. We ran for over 400 yards. Bill Lawlor
HANOVER PARK, IL - HANOVER PARK HURRICANES 12, Wheaton Rams 8. Nick Pantaleo got it going on the first possesion, going untouched on a real pretty Criss Cross 66C. Scoring again on 88 Superpower. The "Canes" offense controlled the ball for 33 minutes of a 40 minute ballgame. Wheaton never touched the ball in the 4th quarter and the game ended on the Rams 1 yard line with 1st down. 323 total yards total offense including Red-Red once, and a Throwback that came up a yard short of another score just before halftime. Next week a tough Carol Stream team. John Urbaniak
HOISINGTON, KS - HOISTINGTON 26, Lyon 0 - We rushed for 257 yards. This was the first game on our home field since the April 21, 2001 Tornado. Almost 17 months since last playing at home. A big win for the kids. Lonnie Irvin, Hoisington HS
BOOTHBAY HARBOR, ME - BOOTHBAY REGIONAL 62, Traip Academy 0 - The SeaHawks opened the season on Saturday with a 62-0 win over Traip. Coach Rice played everyone and the starters played in the first half only -we were leading 38-0 at the half. It will not be as easy on Friday night as we play at Livermore Falls a much improved Wing T team. We opened the game with 3-Brown -O 45 yard completion to the C-Back and scored on the next play with a 10 yard 3 trap @ 4. Jack Tourtillotte
GORHAM, ME - GORHAM 47, Windham 14 - Started the season off right with a win against a much larger school (500+ students bigger). Ahead at half 34 - 7 with 2 touchdowns on 3 trap 2's and 2 through the air (Tight Red & 6 G Pass) and one on a wedge with 3 seconds left in the half. Great start on the season with a much younger team (starting 4 freshmen). Dave Kilborn, Gorham HS
FARMINGTON, MI - NFWB VARSITY VIKINGS 32, Berkley Steelers 0. We did it again, a TD on the very first play from scrimmage. That two weeks in a row. I don't know if we will be able to keep that streak going, as we will be facing much better competition in the next few weeks. We only gained 260 yards on offense but that was mostly due to the fact that our starting field position was so good (we just didn't have that far to go to score). We only ran SPs, Gs, and Wedge. We even got every kid on the team a chance to carry the ball. You should see the look on the faces of the kids who never dreamed that they would get a chance to do that, they were simply beaming. It was priceless. Our defense had another strong performance only allowing 14 yards rushing and 41 yards through the air (mostly against our second and third string run defense). Our subs held strong in the fourth quarter when Berkley had the ball first and goal on our nine. We decided to leave the subs in and see how they reacted in that situation and they came through. We were very pleased with their performance and I think that experience will pay off later in the season against some of the better teams. Thanks, Donnie Hayes, Farmington Hills, Michigan
TROY, MI- TROY COWBOYS 38, Roseville 0 - We ran the double wing the right way this week, plus we learned how to play defense. We ran the ball 26 times for 242 yards= 9.3 per carry. We were only 2 of 6 passing, but one was a two point conversion & the other was about 30 yards on a crucial 4th down. I know, I know, we want to pass when we want to, not when we have to, and we do listen to you, honest, but we had to try in their end of the field in that situation. It did lead to a touchdown, so don't be chewing my ass next time we meet. JV won 19-0 & Frosh 32-0, but they run mixed offenses & I don't have the breakdown. Dave Kenan's Freshman team however, is getting better & better at it. For all the smart coaches out there: The Freshman players (8 & 9) figured out that they like the doublewing, because they don't have to worry so much about what the defense does! "Out of the mouths of babes." Take care oh Seer & Sage, Bill Livingstone, Troy Cowboys
MINNEAPOLIS, MN - BENILDE-ST MARGARET'S 20, Fridley 8 - The Red Knights' double wing offense racked up 365 yards and 14 first downs, and held Fridley to 164 total yards. Our A Back, senior Ryan Hibbard, had 27 carries for 217 yards. Hibbard is 5' 7 - 150 pounds. He has 347 yards in two games. Who said "bigger is better?" Our C Back, senior Ryan Mengelkoch, has 201 yards in two games. Although we are 1-1 the double wing is cranking out the yards again. In two games our rushing total is 750 yards. Had we not fumbled the ball in the first game, and played better defense we would be 2-0. In the second half of the Fridley game we had the ball for 18 minutes while they only had it for 6!! All that's left is for us to polish up the passing game and we'll be firing on all cylinders! Joe Gutilla, Benilde-St. Margaret's HS
ST. CHARLES, MO - ST CHARLES BUCCANEERS 26, Mid Rivers Eagles 0 - (11-year-olds) First game of the year with a new B Back and a new C back. We scored on an 88 super power, a 47-c, Tight 2 wedge, and Criss Cross 56-C. We went 4-5 passing throwing Tight Rip Red Red and T Rip Super HB Pass. As it was a preseason game it was played as 8 minute quarters with regular time in the first half, and continuous clock in the 2nd half. Unfortunately the "NFL influence" cost us a touchdown. Our new C Back broke the 47-C and as he got to the 5 yard line held the ball out towards the defender chasing him. Up went the flag. This despite our continuously emphasizing to the team that when they score they are to hand the ball to the ref. He learned a tough lesson on that one. Steve Fangman, St. Charles Buccaneers
GRAND FORKS, ND - RED RIVER 14, Minot 8 - Coach Wyatt - We started our season off with a bang! First play was "2 Wedge", which our B back broke out into a 74 yard run down to the 3 yard line (I wish he had a little more speed, but we'll take it). We scored with an 88 Super Power. We rushed for 240 tough yards. Minot was a good team. We need to improve on being good plumbers in the OL & sustaining our blocks, but overall pretty good for our first game. We are playing Williston, ND this week. Paul Peterson ,Red River High School, Grand Forks, ND
MANCHESTER, NH - MANCHESTER MEMORIAL 22, Spaulding 0 - Memorial H.S. won their opener in the team's first year running the Double Wing. The Crusaders rushed for 197 yards on 46 carries including 37 Super Powers. Quarterback Randy Lavoie was 2-5 with a 37 yard T.D. strike to C back Eric Egdorf. Jim Foley had a 15 yard T.D. jaunt and Fullback Kevin Kelliher barreled in on a Wedge from the 2 inch line. This was a big win for Memorial which had their last winning season in 1977. We were 2-5 for 50 yards and a T.D. passing. We were able to control the clock and win even though it wasn't real crisp. This week we play Pinkerton Academy which has a great football tradition and is very well coached. I'll keep you posted. - John Trisciani, Memorial HS
PAINTED POST, NY - CORNING WEST 42, Susquehanna Valley 21 -We rolled up 425 yards rushing, and scored on 2 Trap 3, 6G, 6G pass, Over Rocket 38 Reach, 2 Wedge, and Tight rip 77 Super Power keep. We converted 2-pt conversions on 6G Pass,6G option, and 2 Wedge. We were pleasantly surprised with our passing game, completing 2 of 3, with the incomplete pass just deflecting off of our Banana route's fingertips. It was a great start to the season. Coach Mike Johnston, Corning West H.S.
QUEENSBURY, NY - QUEENSBURY 50, Johnstown 12 - Queensbury wins opener, rushes for 309 yards on 33 carries. Coach John Irion, Queensbury HS
ROCHESTER, NY - EASTRIDGE 50, Greece Arcadia 44 - Coach - heres a little report for the winners circle.Eastridge's Double Wing Debut was awesome. We won in 4 overtimes. We rushed for approximately 460 yards and passed for 21 (although we had a 70 yard TD pass off Red Red get called back). We had 3 wingbacks go over 100 yds. It was awesome. Our kids love it. We told them to be patient because the offense is a fourth quarter offense -- we wear em down - and we spoke the truth. We were down 14 nothing and barely had the ball in the 1st quarter. We were patient and hunkered down into a running rhythm. The beautiful thing is how well this offense works with good coaching - my "eyes" in the sky always had stuff to look for. Each play has something off of it and they were telling me what was open all night. We even found one kid who we felt was "soft" at DE and ran G-O reach until they took him out. We ran Super Power, and Counter (lead and lead xx-c) all night. I told our B back and QB I wished we could have gotten them the ball more and both kids said they didn't care as long as we won. We almost lost when our trainer wouldn't let our center back in with a broken hand (he is a true warrior - he tried to go back in anyway). Four overtimes and our kids didn't give up. Couldn't be more proud of the kids. I wonder when the last time was that those West Coast offense guys got almost 500 yards of offense. Coach Dowd (assistant coach) - thanks so much for sharing the offense. I feel like you've let me in on the best secret.
TROY, NY - LANSINGBURGH 74, Cohoes 6 - Marcel Youngs, Kareem Jones and Shonte Freeman combined for 341 yards rushing on 21 carries and scored six touchdowns to pace the Knights.Jones also scored on a 64-yard pass from sophomore quarterback Matt Weber. Joe Ryan had a 62-yard touchdown run, and Jeremy Kane added a 25-yard dash for a touchdown.Lansingburgh rushed for 490 yards and held Cohoes to 91 yards on the ground and 150 in the air. Coach Pete Porcelli: "We didn't run up the score. I pulled my starters out with 10:05 to go in the 3rd quarter (we were up 54-0). Been blessed to have a 230 pound b back and both a and c backs had over 1,000 yards last season at the varsity level. Teams will be gunning for us this year. G-O reach was there and so was 6g and 7g but when are 6g and 7g never there? We still have our work cut out for us. It's a marathon not a sprint.... b back had 8-179 yds 3td... a back had 6-101yds -3 tds... c back had 6-64 yds wiht 2 tds plus a 65 yd td reception off of red red "
WARE SHOALS, SC - WARE SHOALS 35, Whitmire 6 - Despite losing five fumbles, the Hornets won big, rushing 38 times for 314 yards, while holding Whitmire to just 98 yards rushing.
ROANOKE, VA - CAVE SPRING STAMPEDE 36, Cave Spring Vikings 8. 47c and criss cross 47c bread and butter plays this game. (Other team again focusing on A back.) Wedged for critical first down and for over 2 minutes in 4th quarter, including one wedge for 12 yards, another the fullback broke to outside for over twenty yards. Thank You ,and Blessings to you and yours.Coach Armando Castro.
VIENNA, VA - JAMES MADISON 6, Oakton 3 - Madison held Oakton to 44 total yards. Madison scored on a superpower keep to go ahead 6-3. First time beating Oakton in four years. Thanks, Coach Gordon Leib, James Madison HS
